Hello darkness my old friend
Do you ever wonder, if you’ve gone to far. That you've strayed too deep. that whatever you are looking for isnt worth it. You sit in a field, surrounded by darkness, with not a breath to be heard for miles on end. It’s a silent night, an unerving kind of silence that brings out a feeling of emptiness. As words escape your lips, there is no echo, no feedback. The words get swallowed by the vast space, carried away by the breeze.
The only light is the distant dots miles away of towns and cars, the stars above, and the light of a full moon shrouded by clouds. As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you begin to see the dirt road and grass fields around you, but you still cant make out where land separates from space. You know you are alone, but a sense of something watching you looms over. As your eyes adjust, you begin to see the depth of the night sky. A depth of the stars placement in the sky that cant be seen where you come from. Although the moon and surrounding lights are cover up the milk way, you can make out faint clusters. Though there is no milk in the sky, the Rayleigh-Taylor effects still bleed through as the stars are clumped together.
Then you hear it.
What you thought was was your imaginiation at first.
The sound repeates. A rustle that draws closer. In a place with no light, no noise, and a faint breeze that steals sound, Miles away from civilization.
You hear it.
