Row row (Row ah no kay) your boat gently down to, Virginia
Will anyone read these? hopefully not, the next post has dumb pictures so go there.
Anyway, I made it to the first stop. Ravi and his wife were the hosts with the best dog in the world, Nebu (nay-boo). It's i shame i dont have a picture of him...
Ravi was cool though and a super nice host. He offered me food and a spot at the table. Past the uncomfortableness and awkwardness that I am, we had a pretty fun conversation that spanned quite a few ranges. In short, Ravi immigrated here from india in his early 20's for college, he wanted to be a pro tennis player and that was something he considered an outlandish idea. He took this outlandish idea and it appeaers that he did that dream. He met his wife ย (who also immigrated from India but separately) in college. went pro in his 20's, and is now teaching people of ages ranging from 4 - 81 on how to play tennis. Ravi had an interesting view on life that I gathered from our discussions, and seemed like it was something that he got by the time he was older. The general vibe in my words were a non shalot view on life. To him, it was not having an ego or being full of yourself and ย accepting that life is and there is nothing you can do about it but change yourself. In his context, it was facing your fears and getting past them.
2 quotes stood out that seemed to sum up his ideas and the nature of our talk, none of which i'lll expand upon but might look back on at horror if i ever reread what I just wrote. "the nature of life is simple mathematics, everyone that lives also dies and no one escapes that", "There is no right or wrong, things only are", and "The only thing that holds you back is Fear" (and a discussion on people in power, fear is conservatism, etc. etc. but im too tired to expand on that).
