S is for Seattle, not sport mode
Seattle is a city of many weird roads. all of which are labeled as 25 mph. This leads into a state where going into S mode is the best way to navigate. between the light rail traffic, roundabouts at every street intersection, hills only san fransisco can match, and 7 way stopsigns that are not equidistant apart. Driving is an experience and would be much worse if the drivers themselves werent decent (you occasional cali or eastcoast driver aside).

step 1 as always is to set up work, but thats boring. So step 2 is get all the toursity things out of the way. illicit starbucks, illicit space d...needle, illicit stuff you see on the sidewalk because I walked half way to downtown. All a great time in this land of seattle.
I honestly dont remember what my first thoughts were on the city. What I do remember is that like colorodo, you can see mountains in the horizon, the weather is fantastic (40's - 60's), there are tons of meetup events, and surpirisingly good weather for the horror stories i've been told of November. it rained like once, its cloudy every day but there are a good several hours each day of sun, it snowed once and even that cleared up fast.

speaking of meetup events, there were a lot of things that were done and a lot of places checked out in seattle. other than meeting about 3 friend groups, i learned that the seattle freeze is a thing. The Seattle freeze is where people who live in seattle get acclimated and home bodied during the winter. people become a slow new yorker. that being said, this isnt true for translplants. So 98% of the people i met were transplants within the last 5 years.

My last few notes on the city is that gas is expensive but the public transport is miles better than anything in the US and Kilometers worse than other countries.
The homeless arent taken care of well here like every other state, still havent found a place that does it well but something tells me the US isnt a place for that when people talk about increasing unemplyment to help with current financial situations... I swear this blog isnt a political soapbox.
And food is expensive; but there's a good amount of variety which makes up for the "its fine" nature of it.
With that all said, next stop, California, im sure that drive will go fine...
